The NJCCCS are very important to the state of New Jersey. The standards are formed to promote higher education. New Jersey has realized the demands of education and competition throughout the world on job secure. With the standards the state will promote higher education to elementary school through high school students that will eventually lead to successful students in college and after.
Another aspect of the standards will cause a united front of schools throughout the state. The standards align each subject area and grade. With the alignment, each school district will teach the same material. The material may be taught at different times during the school year but the same material will be covered. This will help students who move from one school district to another. The student moving should have the correct background of material and be able to perform.
The last aspect of the standards will help students know how they compare to other students across the state. Through standardized test, students can see their area of improvement to better them.

This I Believe . . .
I believe that teachers have one of the most important careers in the world. Teachers need to inspire their students. Each day a teacher steps into the classroom, they have to prepare their students for life. Think of a place where teachers could not inspire their students and what would America’s future be like?
There are many qualities, attributes and skills that make a well-rounded teacher. You have to be an excellent planning. Have good public speaking skills. Have a depth of knowledge in your subject area. To me the most important characteristic is your connection between your students. If you are not able to connect with your students or have an understanding then your students will not perform to their best ability. Your students must know that you are there for them and believe in them.
